Jay Miner relocated to Atlanta in 1981 after attending The American Academy of Art in Chicago. He began his career in visual merchandising with firms H.Stockton, Muse's, and Brooks Brothers. Through his early associations with many of the city's most influential artists, designers, and realtors he was welcomed into Atlanta's interior design community. Establishing Miner Details and the interior decoration and design arm of his business in 1988 he was named a "New Creative" by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine and soon found himself with projects in Atlanta as well as Hilton Head SC, Highlands NC, and Blue Ridge Ga. The work on Lake Blue Ridge led to publication in Veranda Magazine and the Southeastern Residential Designer of the Year Award in 1995. The following year he was recognized with The Community Service Award bestowed by The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center for his charitable work with DIFFA and Project Open Hand, among others. Subtle, understated, and elegant are words commonly used to decribe his work. Classic, comfortable, and clean remain signature elements in his approach to creating interiors that clients have come to appreciate as timeless reflections of themselves. Such success has led to significant projects in New York, Washington DC, and Las Vegas. In addition to Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles and Veranda, Miner has been featured in the pages of House Beautiful, Atlanta Magazine, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, and The Atlanta Business Chronicle. His work can also be found in the books An Anniversary Celebration Of Seventy Homes and Beautiful Interiors.
